Having first watch The Lord of the Rings at seven years old, I have always been a fan of Tolkien's work. "Lord of the Rings", "The Silmarillion", "The Children of Hurin", etc., all of these books are simple amazing. They tell a story; a story that can be related to the world we live in today and even dating back 500 years ago. The fight: Good vs. Evil, tragedy, friendships, overcoming the impossible...that is what Tolkien's work is.
I love having conversations with my younger sister about the movies and books, both of us, and most of our family being major fans of the series. We have quote contests, shooting off at random quotes from the books or movies at each other until our minds are completely empty. (We swear, we could be in the movies starring as every character we know the lines so well...though we wouldn't do them any justice XD).
Tolkien did not created a simple novel--he wrote something that can bring people together, can create bonds that no one can rip apart. We develop feelings for the characters and can relate to them so simply, its extraordinary.
I love Lord of the Rings, and I always will!
